A monument to regional modernism, the Albuquerque Main Public Library, became the city's newest landmark in January 2020. The building was ahead of its time in flexibility and user-friendliness, fashioned to allow library administrators to reconfigure areas for functionality. The library integrates New Mexican materials into its construction; cottonwood paneling is present throughout the interior.
